1. Set small and realistic goals
If you aren’t someone who works out 7 days a week already don’t start out with that goal. It’s the same thing as starting a new diet and cutting out all “bad foods”. Cold turkey never works. TRUST ME. An example could be starting to workout for at least 30 minutes only 3 times a week.
2.Pick a way of movement that excites you! I love running. In all honesty I go for runs when I feel like I’ve spent a lot of time feeling anxious, frustrated, or maybe even rude. So the idea of going for a run actually relaxes me. Something for you could be yoga! The idea of stretching out your body and ringing out physical and spiritual tension is great for of excersise!
3.Try picking meals that come well balanced. For me, that means always picking the meal on the menu that comes with vegetables. I love meat and I love carbs so I’m still having those things but now I’m more aware of adding more vegetables for nutrients and to feel more full.
4.DRINK WATER. The most important. I actually get on my friends when I don’t see them carrying around water bottles (mainly because they’re singers). A lot of the time when we think we’re hungry we’re just dehydrated. So I think it’s important to start and end your day with water if you aren’t already in the practice of consistently drinking it.
5.Be easy on yourself.
The fact that you even want to start living a healthy lifestyle is such a big deal! The first step is wanting it. So you’re going to slip up from time to time and maybe even surprise yourself. But the most important thing is remembering why you started in the first place!
